Dear Parent/Guardian,

As a school, we are extremely proud that we have been able to offer your child a Chromebook. We trust that the device has assisted them in their everyday learning at Cefn Saeson, especially through the pandemic.

I wanted to give you advanced notice that we will be undertaking a Chromebook audit and software update over the summer break and will therefore require all Chromebooks to be returned before the end of the summer term.

On their return, all Chromebooks must be:

  • in good, working condition
  • with charger

If any device is damaged, for example, a cracked screen or damaged keyboard, these must be fixed before their return to school. Where there are damages and you have taken out Chromebook insurance, please contact the provider. If you have not taken out insurance, we have secured a repair discount with local firm CASEC Computers and have had good feedback from parents who have used their services.

CASEC COMPUTERS, 75 NEW ROAD, SKEWEN, NEATH, SA10 6HE

Chromebooks will be collected during registration sessions during the week of the 20th June. Your child will be told a specific day to return the device. If your child will not be present on that day we request that the give the device to the IT Team (Mr Lowe or Mr Chapman) the next day that they attend school.

If damage is identified during the audit, you will be contacted to arrange a repair.

Yours sincerely,

Mr D. L. R. Cole
