New Welsh Government definition of a Service child (from April 2026):<\/b><\/p>\n

A\u00a0Service child<\/i>\u00a0is a child whose parent(s) or carer(s) with parental responsibility who:<\/p>\n

\u2022\u00a0Currently serves<\/b>\u00a0in the HM Regular or Reserve Armed Forces \u2013 Royal Navy or Royal Marines, British Army, or Royal Air Force,
\n\u2022\u00a0Previously served<\/b>\u00a0in the Armed Forces and left within the past six years,
\n\u2022\u00a0Died while serving<\/b>\u00a0in the Armed Forces, and the child receives a pension under the Armed Forces Compensation Scheme or the War Pensions Scheme.<\/p>\n

SSCE Cymru also encourages schools to consider\u00a0identifying\u00a0children and young people who are connected to the Armed Forces.<\/i><\/p>\n
