Absence<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Attendance at school is so important for the development of not only your child\u2019s academic progress but also for the emotional development.\u00a0 It is where they learn to work as part of a team and how to interact socially with both peers and older members of society.\u00a0 It is where they develop the life skills to really excel in life after their school days are over.<\/p>\n

The Welsh Government have attendance requirements which mean that all pupils should maintain at least a 95% attendance at school.\u00a0 New regulations recently implemented count pupils with lesson than 90% attendance as \u201cPersistent Absentee pupil\u201d, this can lead to fines and even end up in court.<\/p>\n

It is of vital importance that school and home work together as a team to encourage regular attendance at school.\u00a0 School offers rewards associated with regular attendance to encourage pupils into the classroom, parents can regularly check Class charts and give encouragement and praise when pupils are getting rewards.<\/p>\n

An explanation for all absences must be given, whatever the duration. It is essential that the school be informed of any absence, either by telephone or email, at once. No explanation will result in an unauthorised absence being recorded.<\/p>\n

Morning registration will be taken in lesson 1 – pupils must make every effort to be punctual for the start of the day. Late arrivals are recorded. Pupils arriving after 8.35am must sign in at CAREDIG.<\/p>\n

School rules and behaviour expectations<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Cefn Saeson has 2 overarching principles that should be consistently followed by pupils and staff. These principles are outlined in our \u2018Code of Behaviour\u2019. Failure to comply with our behaviour code will result in sanctions.<\/p>\n
